    Civilizations: An EOTB Mixtape
Yesterday I was invited to the first ever SF Mixtape Society at the glistening prom-like setting we all know and love - The Makeout Room. The concept was to create and bring a mixtape loosely based on the theme “cities vs. towns.” One person at a time draws a number. If your number is called, you give that person your mixtape and then pick a new number to get your own from someone else…all very scientific. It took a while to get through everyone, but beer and cocktails kept spirits up.
I’ll admit I threw my mix together just prior to showing up at the bar - so no time for an elaborate theme. I did get pretty James Cameron with the one word title though. I almost feel like it should be called Civilizations: In 3-D IMAX. You’ll notice however that some of the song titles and lyrical content do relate nicely. My selections are mostly tunes from within the last year with a few older outliers for good measure and a few brand new songs as well. Hope you like!
Tracklist:
1. Esser - Leaving Town2. Blood Orange - Sutphin Boulevard (Demo)3. Superstitions - This Town4. Cloud Nothings - Old Street5. The BPA ft. Jamie T - Local Town6. The Sea and Cake - Down in the City7. Surfer Blood - Anchorage8. Moscow Olympics - The Farthest City9. Wild Nothing - Chinatown10. Hands - Windows11. Truman Peyote - Beantown12. Islands - Switched On13.
